Venus In Fleurs: Spotlight: 6 Different Lippys to Lust or Loathe

A while back, I came across this post by Tonya Leigh. It was one of those "a-ha" moments, and the post really struck a new note in me that managed to stick with me indefinitely. Lipstick is something that I never really cared much about, I was always primarily an "eyes" person and lipstick didnt seem to matter at all. As long as I had mascara, I was good to go. After I read that post, I felt completely different. Lipstick wasn't just a novelty that didnt matter, It was a twin to my liquid confidence mascara that I now rarely leave the house without applying. A good lipstick has an effect on your life that is unexplainable. It just boosts your attitude and gives your a certain joie-de-vivre that is difficult to reproduce.

With my new found love of lippy, I have gathered quite the handful of different hues. Since Valentines is coming up, lipstick is relevant now more than ever. Recently, I have been gravitating towards pinks mostly with spring around the corner, but it is best to find a shade that suits your skin tone and personality. I dont recommend wearing a striking bold red lip if you are going on a date for valentines, because the last thing your boyfriend will want to do is kiss you. However hot your old hollywood glam red will make you look, no guy wants a smudgey mess on their face for the rest of the night. Going out with the girls? Hollywood glam it up! But for the sake of your boyfriends face, and the integrity of the night, wear a more natural or lighter shade of lipstick.

Some of the more recent colors I have acquired are drugstore brands, which are inexpensive but work great. I have also noticed during my lipstick shopping that many lipstick brands have a shade called "Temptress". I have two Temptresses in my collection (and this post) and as of right now, I am making a point of buying every lipstick called "Temptress" that I see from now on. It is a lippy challenge for myself, and I hope to acquire as many Temptresses as possible. If you play the part, you become the part.. right? Surprise surprise, my favourite of this bunch is none other than.. Revlon Temptress (pictured last).
